Reading challenges have become really popular lately, with readers coming up with fun challenges to complete as they work their way through their MASSIVE TBR (to be read). One of the most popular trends are TBR reading prompts. They’re a great way to make reading a little more fun and switch things up when you’re not sure what to read next.

What are TBR Reading Prompts?

TBR (to be read) reading prompts are typically printable cards, although they can also be digital. I’ve seen people use a spinning wheel to randomly choose their prompts. But the idea is the same: they help you pick out your next read so you don’t have to spend forever trying to decide what to read.

The prompts can be specific to the genres to love or more generic, depending on what you’re looking for. So basically it works as follows:

• Choose a prompt at random
• Read the prompt
• Find books on your TBR that match the prompt
• Choose which book you’d like to read

It’s pretty simple and you can do this as many times as you want throughout the month to curate your monthly TBR stack!
