Six Crimson Cranes
by Elizabeth Lim

YA Fantasy | Six Crimson Cranes Duology | ~460 Pages
Goodreads | Bookshop | Amazon

Quick Plot: A princess must break a curse to save her brothers and along the way she meets the boy she refused to marry.

Thoughts: Honestly, I loved this book so much. If you’re into fairytale vibes, this duology is a must-read. You get magical creatures, curses, and the perfect little touch of romance. Reading it really feels like stepping into a storybook world.

Graceling
by Kristin Cashore

YA Fantasy | The Graceling Realm | ~470 pages
Goodreads | Bookshop | Amazon

Quick Plot: Katsa, a powerful graceling, teams up with a boy named Po, and together they uncover dangerous secrets.

Thoughts: The mix of action, political intrigue, plot twists, and subtle romance (I absolutely loved Po) kept me hooked from start to finish.

I can’t wait to continue the series! Just a heads-up: I believe each book focuses on a different character in the same world. So you can treat the first book as a standalone.

The Raven Scholar
by Antonia Hodgson

Adult Fantasy | Eternal Path Trilogy | ~650 pages
Goodreads | Bookshop | Amazon

Quick Plot: A scholar is pulled into a murder investigation during a tournament, working alongside her ex who is also competing.

Thoughts: This book is definitely worth all the hype! Oh, and I have to mention the best part- the crows. They were hilarious and honestly stole every scene they were in! There’s also a second chance romance that does not steal the spotlight.

Legendborn
by Tracy Deonn

YA Fantasy | The Legendborn Cycle | ~500 pages
Goodreads | Bookshop | Amazon

Quick Plot: Bree infiltrates a secret Arthurian magical society, where danger, secrets, and a messy romance complicates everything.

Thoughts: While the story has a subtle romance, its heart lies in Bree’s journey of finding who she is and how far she is willing to go to protect the people that matter most to her. This is currently one of my favorite series that I’m in the middle of. I’m constantly checking for updates on the next book!

Mistborn: The Final Empire
by Brandon Sanderson

YA Fantasy | Mistborn Saga Era 1 & Era 2 | ~670 pages
Goodreads | Bookshop | Amazon

Quick Plot: Vin is a street-smart survivor who possesses powers and is recruited into a group that wants to overtake the empire.

Thoughts: There’s magic, crazy plot twists, and yes… a slow-burning romance that was so sweet!

I haven’t finished this series yet, but I have heard incredible things, including some truly devastating twists. From what I have read so far, the romance subplot is slow-burning and the world-building is intense. Honestly, you can never go wrong with a Brandon Sanderson fantasy book.

Six of Crows
by Leigh Bardugo

YA Fantasy | Six of Crows Duology | ~460 pages
Goodreads | Bookshop | Amazon

Quick Plot: A cast of misfits who constantly clash somehow have to work together to pull off an impossible mission..

Thoughts: You guys, Six of Crows is such a wild ride. It follows Kaz Brekker, a thief, and his team of misfits as they attempt to pull off a heist that can make them very wealthy. Each member of the group has a dark past with a unique set of skills and with so many strong personalities in one team, there’s a ton of tension… romantic tension.

Chain of Gold
by Cassandra Clare

YA Fantasy | The Last Hours Trilogy | ~620 pages
Goodreads | Bookshop | Amazon

Quick Plot: Cordelia reunites with her childhood friends, but a wave of new demon attacks pulls them into a supernatural mystery.

Thoughts: What I loved most about this book was the friendships. The characters are easily the standout. Everyone has their own struggles, flaws, and complicated feelings. Now for the romance—Cordelia has a long-time crush on her best friend’s brother… I’ll leave it there.

The relationships are full of tension, longing, and loyalty, and you can’t help but get attached. It’s one of those books where you stay for the plot but fall in love with the characters.
