Nothing pulls me into a fantasy book faster than a strong female lead. When I say strong, I don’t necessarily mean physical strength—although I definitely enjoy a good action scene. What really draws me in is mental strength, resilience, and the way a character faces adversity.
I find these kinds of heroines incredibly inspiring to read about. They take charge of their story, confront challenges head-on, and leave a lasting impression long after the book is finished.

Thoughts: Watching her grow from a dismissed, lonely figure into someone confident in her abilities made this a good read. More than anything, this felt like a story about finding your own strength and identity.

Thoughts: Watching her realize she deserves more and start fighting for the life she actually wants instead of the one forced on her is chef’s kiss.
You see her begin to experience love and support from a group of strangers, and she slowly starts to question everything she’s been taught. Despite her mother’s attempts to keep her small and obedient, Cordelia gradually finds her voice and begins standing up for herself.

Thoughts: Even in the face of loss, Bree refuses to back down. She challenges a system stacked against her and proves that no one can choose her destiny other than herself.

Thoughts: I loved watching Jude grow into a fierce fighter who refused to be underestimated by her peers. Despite her odds, she is clever and determined to mark her place in this world. She truly feels like the heart of the story—honestly, no other character in the books compares to Jude.

Thoughts: Vin’s growth throughout the series is what really made her stand out to me. She goes from a scared, distrustful girl to someone who knows exactly who she is and what she’s capable of.

Thoughts: But this story is really about her discovering who she wants to be, rather than remaining the puppet her uncle expects.

Thoughts: What I loved most is how confident and sure of herself she is. Her wit, bravery, and cleverness shine through every step of the adventure, making her impossible not to root for.

Thoughts: This epic fantasy features multiple strong female leads, including Ead and Queen Sabran. Ead is brave and extremely loyal, while Sabran carries the enormous responsibility of protecting her kingdom.

Thoughts: Neema is smart, resourceful, and fearless, and reading her journey made me appreciate that a heroine doesn’t have to wield a sword to be unforgettable.

Thoughts: I do not think I have ever read a female lead this chaotic. She does not wait to be saved. She is full of rage, fiercely driven, and makes some very questionable choices. But that is exactly what makes her so compelling. She is not here to be likable. She is here to survive and win, no matter the cost.
