Thoughts: This was a very different kind of book than what I’m usually drawn to. It is a bit slower-paced and focuses more on the characters and their daily lives rather than being strictly plot-driven, but the family dynamics are incredibly compelling and well done.

I especially loved the characters in this one, and the overall tone gave me strong Godfather vibes.

Thoughts: Don’t get me wrong—this book was incredible, but I don’t think it would be fair to you as a reader without a small warning: this series might emotionally ruin you. Now that that’s out of the way…

This is a beautifully written and deeply captivating story, largely driven by Fitz and his journey into adulthood. It explores what it means to grow up as an outsider while being trained as an assassin, all while struggling with the idea of belonging or having a place to call home.

Thoughts: This was the first book I picked up from Brandon Sanderson, and I was instantly hooked. It has a really sweet romance at its core, but it’s paired with an equally intriguing and emotional plot that keeps you invested throughout.

Thoughts: This is my second Brandon Sanderson book in this list, and it’s safe to say anything by him is usually a must-read. His stories are easy to follow, full of great characters, and build toward incredibly satisfying endings. Fans often call it a “Sanderlanche,” where everything escalates into an intense final stretch.

Thoughts: The concept of this book was so intriguing, and I thought it was executed really well. It explores a unique world with a system that raises a lot of questions, and I felt like the story did a great job of gradually answering them.

The characters were fascinating, and the plot was engaging from start to finish. The world itself is such a strong concept, and I really appreciated how well-developed and thought out it felt.

Thoughts: I love a good fantasy heist book. There’s something so compelling about a group of criminals who all dislike each other being forced to work together to pull off an impossible mission. You get plenty of tension, bickering, and maybe even a little flirting along the way.

Thoughts: I love fairy-tale inspired books, and this one was such a delight. It features curses, an evil stepmother, and magical creatures that really bring the world to life.

The romance is sweet and understated, never overpowering the main story, and the plot strikes a great balance between adventure, family dynamics, and magic.

Thoughts: I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. It was gripping, emotional, and full of suspense, especially when the main character suffered memory loss and is slowly trying to remember what his purpose is. I especially loved Rocky and the ending was incredibly memorable.
